First time here, on my foodie friend's recommendation. She suggested the salmon taco. I asked if they could make a salmon burrito, grilled like a quesadilla, and they said yes! We, 7 of us, sat outside on sidewalk tables, and all enjoyed the deliciousness! My salmon burrito was very yummy! And the staff is very nice! I look forward to coming back again soon!

Really delicious birria tacos here! Use that spicy orange red salsa to kick up the heat. Also loved the addition of cheese to the tacos

Amazing food can't get enough of it. I love the regular tacos and the spicy sauce it comes with. If you want authentic halal Mexican food this is the place to be.

Simple and delicious. I was introduced to this place when the kind Kelly purchased burritos for the vendors at her market. The burrito consisted of beans, rice, and cheese; that is all. Sounds pretty basic, right? Let me tell you, there was nothing basic about this burrito. There was flavor at first bite from the soft, homemade tortilla. I could taste that the pinto beans had been slow simmered to perfection and the rice was adequately seasoned. I thought if this "basic" burrito tastes this good the other items on the menu have to be fire! So, you know I returned the following week. I got the butternut squash burrito and carnitas burrito. My butternut squash burrito exceeded my expectations even without the sour cream I was told it came with. My mum loved her carnitas burrito, and said the meat was packed with flavor. A must try!

I have been here before. Guess I forgot to give you all the thumbs up. My bad This time around I had 2 street tacos, shared nachos and took 2 burritos home for dinner. Tacos are standard street tacos but they come out hot and fresh. I just wish it wasn't $7.00 for 2 tiny tacos. The nachos were amazing and worth going back for! The pic says it all. Hot and crispy chips smothered under the works. The guys sitting a crossed from me were eating super tasty burritos but the ones we had for dinner were just ok. Some things just don't taste as good a few hours later? Not sure so before I say "down with the burritos" I think I need to go try one again. But based on what I tried it is definitely a great place to hit up so go check them out.

This Mexican restaurant has become our go-to for quick and delicious food. We conveniently place our orders online and pick them up in just under 30 minutes. The burrito was freshly made and the pork carnitas was moist with just the right amount of crispy bits that I absolutely love. Whether we need to pick up our order or have it delivered, they always satisfies our cravings.

This is a total several year experience review Maya is clean, the staff is friendly and very helpful. There is easy convenient parking, located in a fantastic neighborhood (it's still Richmond so don't leave anything in your car). They are fast but I recommend calling in your order during lunch times as it can get busy.my average wait time from call in to pick up is 15 minutes What I love The Maya salad 5 stars with steak! It's fresh and tasty, Coworker gets the salmon tacos, 5 stars. She says delicious, tasty and flavorful. Best salmon tacos in Richmond. Anything Al pastor, it's tender and perfect with a squeeze of lime. Nachos 4 stars (I like more gooey cheese) you get to many chips that have no toppings, maybe layer it better to get good coverage. Also nachos don't travel well the cheese turns into a cheese lump in 10 minutes . It's still tasty and worth getting to share with some tacos Tacos 4 stars, they are street tacos.... Nothing special. But, a good taco is minim 4 stars. The red hot sausage is soooooooo good. The green is okay. If you like spicy go red. What I like less Any burrito/taco shop that charges for chips. Don't charge for chips! Unless they are fresh, house made and unique. That's a loss leader. The "Philly cheese steak" 2 stars it's not a Philly cheese steak. It's a meh steak and cheese torta. It needs that yellow gooey cheese to be a Philly. It needs lettuce tomatoes and avocado to be a Torta, this is neither. I ate it because yea it wasn't nasty. I just don't see myself recommending or ordering again without some changes.

Because I'm "that kind of person" I agreed, at Maya Taqueria, to share a Shrimp Burrito ($12) even though I'd have preferred to order something different. But being generous proved to also be educational; the burrito was excellent. Owing less to the shrimp than the combination of the ingredients, this was comfort food at its best and I could easily imagine any other protein substitute (or straight-up veggie) being equally satisfying. Maya Taqueria isn't much more than an attractive, artsy storefront with tables and chairs on the sidewalk out front. The menu is interesting though and the reasonable prices ($2.50 tacos anyone?) were welcome. It's my own prejudice that compels me to remark that I do wish Maya offered chunkier salsa. The burrito featured fresh pico de gallo (good) but hot sauce here comes in squeeze bottles, one for red sauce (hot) and one for green sauce (mild). Both were good but I prefer my salsa thicker, all the better for spooning atop a tortilla chip ($1/basket). Even with the squeeze bottle salsas though, Maya proved to be doing pretty much everything right and I'd be happy to return for the Shrimp Burrito or pretty much any other menu offering. Sitting out front is a mixed bag of entertainment, a little slice of the City here in Richmond. Enjoy your meal and remain alert.

Delicious, fresh, and friendly! Get the flautas and the lengua! Nice little outside patio in front to shove down the fresh tacos and salsa.
